How do I correctly send a transfer to the Walutomat in a foreign currency to avoid double currency conversion?

When depositing any currency into Walutomat, remember to send the transfer to our account, held in the same currency you are sending and in which your bank account is held. Failure to do so may result in your bank converting the funds at a rate unfavourable to you.

When making a deposit of any currency into the Walutomat, remember to:

  • send a transfer from an account held in the currency you are transferring;
  • send a transfer to our account, held in the same currency you are sending.

Failure to do so may result in your bank converting the funds at a rate unfavourable to you.

To avoid this, make sure that you have selected the correct transfer currency in your bank, e.g. when sending Norwegian kroner (NOK) to Walutomat, make sure that you

  • you have selected NOK as the transfer currency;
  • the account from which the funds will be debited is your account also held in NOK.

Remember that Walutomat operates all its accounts in Poland. These accounts are in different currencies. Each currency is a different bank account number.

Unfortunately, some foreign banks default to selecting the currency of the transfer as the currency of the home country to which the funds are sent. In order for your foreign currency transfer to be made in the currency of your choice, you must indicate this when making the transfer.

Before approving the sending of a transfer, make sure that you have set up the transfer correctly – you have indicated the correct type of transfer, the currency of this transfer and the account from which the funds will be sent.

If you are unsure whether you have chosen the right type of transfer to send currency, please contact your bank.
