What happens to my account when I die?

In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Website, the contract concluded by the User expires upon his/her death. The account will be liquidated once the heirs have provided information and the remaining funds in the account have been paid out on the basis of the relevant documents.

How can relatives report the death of an account holder?

The receipt of reliable information is needed, e.g. an abbreviated death certificate, succession certificate.  The funds remaining in the accounts become part of the estate and can be paid to the heirs on the basis of documents confirming their right to the inheritance, primarily a court order confirming the acquisition of the inheritance or a registered notarial deed of succession.

It is important to note that a contract entered into by a natural person who is an entrepreneur does not expire upon the death of that person, but is subject to the regulations of the Act of 5 July 2018 on Succession Administration of the Business of a Natural Person.

In the event of the death of a company representative, it is possible to appoint another person to act on behalf of the company – if this is the case, please report the matter to Customer Services.
